From imported cheeses to handmade French chocolates, Tastings Gourmet Market brings the smells and tastes of Old World Europe to Annapolis. Founded in 2006 by chef and culinary instructor Stacey Adams, this market provides delicacies that define many European traditions and cultures. The San Daniel Prosciutto, for example, is a product that has been made the same way for over ten centuries — only animals from 10 specific Italian provinces are used in the making of this cured ham. Cheese lovers will rejoice in the Kokos Coconut Gouda — a Dutch cheese with a dash of coconut cream, which pairs nicely with white wine and crackers.
Tastings Gourmet Market also offers a daily menu of salads, sandwiches, soups, and quiches. The Poached Pear with Blue Cheese salad is topped with caramelized onions, and then drizzled with champagne vinaigrette. Tastings’ signature Petit Sandwiches — such as the Madrange Ham & Brie — are the perfect compliment to a soup or salad. A gourmet catering service is also offered, which is a perfect solution to any size of event.
