If you haven't had the chance to try standup paddleboarding (SUP) yet this summer, there's still time. As long as the weather stays warm and the sun is shining, the exercise enthusiasts at Capital SUP in Annapolis will continue to offer SUP lessons, SUP fitness classes, and SUP rentals.
For those who are totally new to the sport, a SUP lesson will teach you the basics. It's really just a matter of learning to balance atop the wide, surfboard-like watercraft, and then paddling to propel yourself forward. Once you have this down, you can rent a standup paddleboard to take out on the water or try one of the SUP-centric fitness classes. From yoga to boot camp, you might be surprised by how many forms of exercise can be adjusted for the standup paddleboard. Capital SUP also offers guided tours, kayak rentals, and more.
