On the first Sunday of every month from May through November, downtown Annapolis is transformed into a celebration of arts and culture for the First Sunday Arts Festival. At the October 6 event, five stages will host musical performances, and more than 130 artists and vendors will be on hand to showcase their wares. You’ll also find plenty of food trucks where you can sample some of the best food and drink that Annapolis has to offer. Last year’s festivals drew 10,000 visitors, and by all accounts this year’s should be bigger than ever. Best of all, admission is absolutely free. Follow the festival on social media to get a sneak peek at each month’s booths and to get advanced notice on the entertainers slated to perform.
The event runs from 11 am to 5 pm, weather permitting, and is located on West Street between Church Circle and the Loews Hotel, spilling over into Whitmore Park on Calvert Street.
