January 9th, 2020
If you’ve made a New Year’s resolution to give back more in 2020, start by participating in the Maryland Polar Bear Plunge. What better way to shock yourself into a new frame of mind than with a frigid dip into the Chesapeake Bay? You’ll be “freezin’ for a reason” as the Polar Bears say, because all registration fees and donations go to support the 8,033 athletes of Special Olympics Maryland.
This year’s festivities take place at Sandy Point State Park from January 23 through 25. The Maryland Polar Bear Plunge has a separate event for school personnel, police, corporations, and the rest of the general public so that you can wade into the waters with like-minded folks. Register or donate now, and be sure to check out the Plunge Team captains if you’d like to join one of the specialty groups.
